Connecting the Pentax PocketJet to the Palm Device

PocketJet 3/3Plus with Bluetooth: Use the printer’s built-in Infrared or Bluetooth port.

PocketJet 3/3Plus: Use the printer’s built-in Infrared port.

PocketJet 200: Use either the PDA Serial cable or the Infrared adapter, or the Bluetooth Cable (Note: Bluetooth requires additional 3rd party adapter, sold separately)

Bluetooth Printing:

·      If printing with this software via Bluetooth, after the software is first installed, you must first use the "Select Bluetooth Printer" menu within PalmPrint before attempting to print for the first time.

Infrared Printing:

·      If applicable, select the baud rate of 115,200 for all printers

·      PocketJet 200: Select the port called “Infrared (fast)”

·      PocketJet 3/3Plus: Select the port called “IrComm”

Serial Printing (PocketJet 200 only):

·      If applicable, select the baud rate of 57,600.

·      The Pentax “PDA Serial Cable” is intended to connect to the HotSync cable or cradle

Note: If you are using the PocketJet 3Plus printer with StevensCreek PalmPrint, choose “PocketJet 3” as the driver. This driver works with both the PocketJet 3 and 3Plus printers. If you are using the PocketJet 3 printer, you may use either the “PocketJet 200” or the “PocketJet 3” driver, but the “PocketJet 3” driver will likely print much faster.

Printing from applications that are not Palm PIM applications

Many applications can be printed either through the Doc printing support or by copying to the clipboard. Direct application printing support is a function of the software package. All requests to have printing supported directly from a specific software package must be made directly to the software company. If it is not listed as being supported on their packaging, call their support line and ask/request this function.

Note: Stevens Creek provides a tool kit that is available to application developers that will allow them to print-enable their Palm OS software applications. Please feel free to contact Pentax if you should have questions.
